Antonio Banderas and The Cast of “The 33”

CAST ANSWERS MEDIA QUESTIONS IN EXCLUSIVE PRESS EVENT AT THE WALDORF ASTORIA IN NEW YORK CITY //


On October 30th, 2015, actors Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Lou Diamond Phillips and director Patricia Riggen took questions from the media about their movie “The 33.” The film depicts the true story of miners who were trapped in a Chilean mine for two months and survived. The press event took place at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

“There are lessons all around,” said Antonio Banderas about the meaning behind the film.

“This man showed kindness…he set the example for everyone else,” said Lou Diamond Phillips of Antonio Banderas during filming of “The 33.”

In this clip, the cast discuss a memorable moment in which Santoros, who plays Laurence Golborne – Chile’s minister of mining, gets slapped in the face by co-star Juliette Binoche, who plays Maria Segovia, without the use of stunt doubles or mocked moves.
